Work permits for spouses of the new Member States no longer required. The Luxembourg government has just announced that with immediate effect spouses of statutory staff of the European Institutions from the new member states, whatever their nationality, no longer need to obtain a work permit to get a job on the Luxembourg labour market. Applications for work permits that have already been submitted can thus be considered as having been granted. This information has been transmitted to ADEM and the Luxembourg employers association (Union des Entreprises Luxembourgoises)
